I know i goin sound like a old man here but with a new truck watch what you do to void any warrentys unless you just dont give a shit bout that like me haha. but just thought i would threw that out there its always nice for someone else to pay when you brake it.
I wouldn't worry about that at all. Get a spare PCM, if you take the truck in change out the PCM before it goes for work. It's almost impossible for the average tech to find that you had a different PCM in the truck. I worried about some of those statements in the beginning of my search.

Ask anybody who has a custom tune what they think. I'm 99.99% sure the answer will be worth that small risk.

Since you have the 6.2 you also have a 6 speed. You really want to try to get a live in person tune. This is currently the only way you can get your 6 speed tuned. These new trucks have an ECM and a TCM. The TCM in the 6 speed is in the transmission so it physically requires the tuner to be there to get it tuned. He can still adjust your ECM from a mail order tune and you will have a huge benefit from that, but believe me, you want the TCM tuned also.

As far as the CAI goes. It is best to get it installed before the tune, but I would not worry about it too much. If I only had a $1000 spend I would get a custom exhaust and a Black Bear tune and I would not worry about a CAI.

A CAI is only going to really give you more sound and that's about it. You may get 5-8 hp at W.O.T. but for the price it really isn't worth it.

Congrats again on the new truck

i checked out the blackbear site real quick and in the faqs it said basically what you just did.just swap out the pcm with your spare and your chances of your custom pcm screwin you on warrenty is slim to none, Im not worried about it. hopin this truck turns out to be what I need....reliable and stayin FAR away from the dealer

its funny you mention this cuz when i was test driving a similar model with the 6.2, i turned onto the exit ramp and floored it and it was almost like the tranny was a bit confused and then had a sloppy shift into 2nd. i dotn know of anyone around here tha does truck tuning. 1 or 2 rice burner tuners but Im not sure if they would know whats up with tuning my new babys 6 speed.

I think the closest place to get that done would be in the twin cities 4 hours away, and tthat would be a pain in the ass, but if it worth it ill have to get that done. i assume it makes it shift smoother? change rpm parameters and shit?

I got more than a grand to spend to get the three things done, just might take a little longer to do, id rather do it right the first time.

1. Airaid MIT (Modular Intake Tube) $120ish
2. Drop-in air filter K&N, AEM.....etc. $60ish
3. Exhaust (Magnaflow, Corsa, etc....) $140-$600ish
4. Custom tune $350ish

I say that give or take a couple hundred bucks you could stay in the $1000 budget, of course that all depends on your preferences in brands and stuff.

Congrats on the new truck!

For the intake, I'd just get an MIT (modular intake tube) and get a quality drop in filter. Cheaper and you get the same effect. For exhaust go with Corsa.

I will second that..more expensive than some other exhaust systems, but worth it.

Since your in Sioux Falls, and you are thinking about a BlackBear tune. There is a BlackBear in Rogers MN (Just north of the Twin Cities) going on April 23-24. If you go to the Black Bear Website you can find the date and pay your deposit and get a timeslot and also order your spare PCM so Justin can send it to you before the meet.

There are a few problems here with what everyone is saying about the MIT. I agree it is a great way to go, BUT Airaid does not make a MIT for the 2009/2010 6.2l's. So, that bumps the price of a CAI back up to the $350 range.

Also, a Corsa Exhaust system is going to run you closer to $1000 unless you find a used one on Ebay.
