hey everyone, im nomad. Just bought my first brand new truck and Im pretty excited about pickin it up ina few days. i bought a 2010 GMC crew cab with the 6.2l V8. i was ognna go with the ford cuz i think its a better truck but i couldnt wait for their new 6.2 to come out and I couldnt see myself with the irshitty 5.4 and nearly 100 Hp less than the gmc. plus ive always driven gm and they are good trucks as well.

anyway straight to the point. this truck already has some prettty good power, but its never enough is it? LOL I had a volant intake on my last truck and it made a good amount of difference so iwas thinkin of getting one right away on this new beast, unless there is better out there? i havnt done a whole lot of research on trucks, and havnt done much modding so i dont really know.

Mainly I would like better gas milage and some more power but Im not sure I can get both very easily. I was thinking goin with the volant intake, some type of programmer and maybe exhaust. i dont know of any good programmers for trucks and i dont like loud exhaust so Im not sure i really want to change the exhaust out.

sorry for the novel, I hoping some of you pros can shed some light on these upgrades, whats the best to get, are the performance increases really cost effective, and if im on the right track.

thanks for any advice!

the volant intake and some headers would improve breathing as well as an aero stealth muffler for power but still quiet. after that i'd look into a good programmer
and that is a good intake

Where are you located Nomad?

The best bang for your buck and it will turn your 6.2 into more of a beast then it is already is a Black Bear tune.

For the intake, I'd just get an MIT (modular intake tube) and get a quality drop in filter. Cheaper and you get the same effect. For exhaust go with Corsa.

nice big red, thanks. how much does it cost. how long doe it take? im sure there are some threads on here Il have to look at regarding the blackbear, but what exactly did you notice improvements on? Im kinda confused on the crank relearn and the torque management stuff
You're on the right track. I'd get the intake and exhaust, then go for a tune.
thanks draenor that makes sense to me, making the tune more effiecient

any preference on filter? i would think those volant 100,000 mile filters would be better than a k&n? what do you think?

my buddy had a 300c srt8 with corsa and that thing sounded nice and mellow but when you really got on it, it fuckin sounded like a beast<<<<<thats what Im lookin for,

^^^^anyone else have a different take on just useing the MIT and a drop in? I havnt heard of the MITs til I joined here, and after spending over 40 grand on a truck id like to save a few pennys here and there but dont wanna sacrifice quality or performance.
