Where did you move to Darren?

just in town more. Still in Tioga County PA.

AKA wayoutinthemiddleofbumblef**k.

Shoulda went to Carlisle. :nonod:

I like it up here, crime is low, beautiful scenery, work is eh, theres some to offer but theres quite a bit of others out of work looking so its a challenge, its non emissions, and its where i grew up. Not quite ready to get all the way out yet, from the memories and friends i have here & having my father burried here I dont wanna leave anytime soon.

You're a good man, Darren.

Sweet pics Darren, my Toyo's have yet to see any mud. :(

:jester:

Do you plan on buying some new wheels, Nando?

:pfingers:

I planned on it, but the plan is on hold until I talk to the emissions referee for my area. If at all possible I want to do some frame work and swap a DMax/Allison into my truck. If that goes down the wimpy 8.8 and crap IFS is going bye bye. If not, I will be getting the ProComp 7005's.

Dmax & ally in a Ford 1/2 ton, that will be pretty interesting! Any plans for upgrading the rear end? Or do you think the 9.75 will be fine?

I have a 4.6L right now so it has the 8.8 rear. I will definitely have to ditch the stock rear for something beefy, since my HP would be almost doubled. I have been doing a bunch of reading and figuring things out as I come to issues, and am still a ways from even starting the project (truck is paid off beginning of 2011). There are a lot of newer DMax's that go to the local wrecker because of dumb dairy workers destroying the bodies on the trucks. My buddy is a cow breeder and is always telling me about trucks on dairies he breeds at being rolled over, ran into with tractors, wrecked into pens, etc so finding the engine/trans combo in decent shape should be relatively easy. The emissions referee for my area is a PITA to get a hold of. I need to find out if my truck will still be legal to register after the Dmax swap, and if so, what are the necessary steps to do so. If I can't register it, I may just scrap the idea and go for a 5.4 swap. Whichever route I go I am going to start acquiring parts after I talk to the referee.

It will be a lot of custom work and not cost efficient at all, but when finished it will be exactly what I want. :fingersx:

Well hell. :fume:
I finally got a hold of the referee and they said I can't legally put a "heavy duty" emission drive train into a "light duty" emission vehicle. So either I make it an off road rig or just go with a 5.4 swap. DAG!

That's a good looking truck! My pop had a 86 and it was a good truck till my brother decided to roll it down a hill at a friends house. Flipped 3 times and him and his girlfriend just had some scratches.
