The valve covers came today and since I was off work and it was a beautiful day I went ahead and swapped them out. The left side is easy enough to do, I think I was done with that side in about 45 minutes. The right side on the other hand took me damn near 2 hours to do. There's a lot more shit in the way on that side, and of course I stopped for a smoke. After I got it all back together, I started it up and low and behold, no smoke came out the tail pipe. I let it run for a bit and checked for leaks. It seems all is good. I wanted to change the oil in it, but that's going to have to wait til this weekend. I think GM really screwed the pooch with this design. They should have left well enough alone and kept the pcv valve. A $6 part cost me over $130.

Glad you got it done. Now you should be good for another 200k.

Replaced that stupid steering wheel position sensor. It wasn't hard, but it sure was a pain in the ass to get to.

Did that fix the problem :dunno:
I believe so. I didn't get that annoying "service stabilitrac" warning. I drove a few blocks making left and right turns and I never had an issue. I'd usually get a warning as soon as I pull out of the driveway.

I didn't do anything to my truck, but we had to put a spark plug insert in my grandsons 4.6L V8 E150. I first thought it was a rod knock when I listened to it next to a busy intersection, but after getting it home and listening to it I realized that it was a blown spark plug. It had already been heli coiled, so He had to order a kit from Cal-Van. The kit itself was $240. It's back to purring like a kitten.
