Just changed out the transmission filter on y 2002 Silverado. It had 102k miles on it. I'm sending a sample of the fluid off to Dysonanalysis to see how well it did. Here is a picture of the pan when I dropped it down. Looks pretty good for 102k miles on it and been towing a 4k lbs trailer the past three years.

That fluid looks new. Is it Amsoil or something else?

It is AMSOIL's ATL. I put it in when I bought the truck new back in 2002. Considering the amount of towing I have been doing and my transmission temp getting up to 198 degrees when towing. I think the fluid did well. Can't wait to get the UOA back to see how well it held up. The magnet had less fuz on it than when I pulled the pan down the first time.

Well today I changed out the transmission filter on the 2016 Suburban. It has 54k miles on it. What a PITA it was to get the pan off. No clearence at all between the exhaust and the pan. I had to take down the exhaust at the manifolds to get it out. How others are doing it without doing that is beyond me. Glad I installed the drain plug in the pan. So now I can change the fluid out easy. The length of tubing needed to suck it out is super long and my mighty vac only could get a qt out since it didn't reach all the way down to the bottom of the pan.

Did a little ecu tuning on the JK. Adjusted the tire size and trans shift points for now. Once I get a better tuner from Superchips I'll be able to do a lot more.

It seems as though the auto industry is making repairs harder and harder for us average Joe's to do. It's bullshit.
