Why the extreme? You can get a 2500 diesel and make it get 28 mpg. Those Canyons are cute, but they cost way too much
28? Highly unlikely, lol.
22, yes.

Most used HD diesels are the same price as the new truck. Still looking, anyways, as the Denali is out of my finance range, lol. It's that, or just live with my 10MPG unloaded highway mileage, lol.

Depends on how fast you drive and have it tuned. I get 25 at 56

I still don’t understand the 10 mpg. I thought you fixed that thing

One question and I'm not being a smartass (this time). Have you DRIVEN a Canyon (and I don't just mean around the block or a quick 2 miles on the freeway)? I was dead-set on getting one until I drove 2 or 3 of them. After that (and driving the newer Silverados, I knew which one the better buy was (for me).

I know you're frustrated with the low MPG on your truck, but it'd likely be a hell of a lot cheaper to fix that one than to go buy an all new one. :dunno:

Nope, she spent a week at a shop, and they couldn't find anything... They felt bad enough they didn't charge me anything for the time they spent on it, lol.

I'm doing one last experiment before I send it off... Gonna crank to timing to the moon, lol. Even at idle you can smell unburned fuel... Like burn your eyes bad, lol. But she runs smooth, has no white smoke, and all the computer tests give the injectors a pass

Even if this pig could get back over 17 - 18, I'd be ok with that, lol.

If you're getting 25, hand calculated, that's flippin awesome.

A little slower than I'd like, lol, but otherwise drives nice (but my truck also came with a shitty levelling kit, so anything rides better, lol).

The only reason I'm even considering it, is because they're paying off what I currently owe on the truck (which includes some leftovers from my old truck), and my truck payment gets lower, lol.

Yeah, based on the engine's rated numbers, the gas V6 (the diesel wasn't out yet, when I realized I was better off with a Silvy than an over-priced mid-sizer) felt under-powered to me. The truck rode smooth enough. But, it felt more cramped inside than I was expecting, no "smaller" than it really is vs. the "full size" GM trucks. :dunno:

Good luck finding an inexpensive solution!

They're all overpriced, lol. I wish I could keep mine, but the fuel is killing me, lol. All that's left is to throw random parts at it... And that's spendy, lol.

Probably not long, lol. Trying a few last ditch things on the POS before she goes... If I can fix it, I'm keeping it.... It'll be hard to adjust to something that slow, lol.

I'll need to get that little 2.8 up to 428HP to have the same oomph my truck should have.

...and you still think you'd get good MPG out of it?
