If fuel economy is a concern, think about this another way.

The Silvy comes with a bigger engine that won't have to be pushed as hard as the V6 or 4 cylinder in the Colorado/Canyon, so that "2 mpg difference" may not be as big as you think it will be. :dunno:

The Sily is also bigger and more roomy than the Colorado / Canyon.

When I bought my Silverado, I was dead set on a Colorado / Canyon. But, after doing some decent comparisons (driving both a few times each), the Silverado ended up being the better value *for me*.

Good luck!

I will try test drive both. I just can't afford the Silverado otherwise I would probably go for that one. I could lease the Colorado and then lease the Silverado when my lease is up.

I have until the end of this year to make my decision since I want to wait until Dec./Jan to lease the truck.

I can't speak for the truck, but the Acadia will get 29 all day on flat interstate if you keep the speed around 60-65. Our life average right now is 21 with most of it being in town stop and go driving, A/C blasting. Not bad for 320 hp. I know it doesn't have the torque, and I would never tow with it.

When I was shopping for a truck, I knew one of the things it needed to be able to do was the back roads stuff I like to do in Colorado, so the GM crossovers never entered the equation for me.

Add in that the Silvy was cheaper and came with more standard equipment than their mid-sized trucks and it became a no-brainer for me.

One of the deal-killers for me with the Colorado/Canyon was the seats. My knees bother me enough that I needed more adjustability in the seats. Even in the highest trim-level, the seats weren't as adjustable on the Colorado/Canyon as they were on an LT Silvy. :dunno: Maybe they've changed that since then? I don't know...

I will say that the Colorado / Canyon rode smoother than the Silvy.

I don't tow or transport heavy trailors like you guys do. :p

So I think that the Colorado would be a great choice for me. Though I will still test drive a Silverado. :D

It's not heaven . . . it's Iowa!

I have a friend who's work vehicle is one of the newer diesel Colorados. It's pretty roomy inside, and I thought about one when I upgraded here recently. But the price difference wasn't quite there. And mostly, the cabin is just a little cramped, and the back seat too.

But they seem like really nice trucks
