Can anybody recommend a good scanner?

I don't want an expensive one, but I would like to have one that can diagnose problems, and read trouble codes. Are those Actrons any good? I've seen them for under $200. :dunno:

I've never heard anything bad about the Actrons and they can be had for well under $200 for what it sounds like you need it for.

Is your truck OBDI or II?

Do you have a laptop Jeff. If so talk with Jenna about getting the EFI live stuff. They have a version that is just for reading codes. I forgot how much she said it was but it was less than 500.

OBD I was nice... all it took was a paper clip!

Yeah, my old '90 Buick was like that. I have the OBDII. I don't really just want the code reader, so I guess I'm going to have to shell out a little more money, or just keep doing what I've been doing, which is go bug my buddy. :lol:
