I got that same email from them. I think I read where it was the air bags, but I could be wrong. :dunno:

What I read said it was a programming issue in one of the modules that can be flashed on a basic service visit. I guess my next oil change will be at the dealership.

If you haven't done it yet, you might want to go here and see if anything else is outstanding on your truck or the minivan. :uhoh:

The only thing outstanding is that airbag thing on mine. The letter daid they would contact me when parts are available.

I think I'd be turning the damn thing off or pulling the fuse. :dunno:
It's a damn shame and it seems this problem is affecting a lot of vehicle manufacturers.

Jeff. The recall on my truck is that the airbags sometimes DON'T deploy in an accident, which is a programming issue and can be fixed with a flash.

The Takata airbag problem is the one where IF the airbags go off, they may shoot shrapnel into people's faces, chests, etc..

It effecting "so many manufacturers" is because GM, Ford, Toyota, etc. don't make the airbags themselves (or most of the other components in the vehicles). They contract that stuff out and most of them use the same airbag supplier that had that manufacturing problem for quite a while.

Got Ya!

That's what I thought was affecting all of them...my mistake.
