Michael, I had 2 sets of them. Great tires, it was a tough decision not to go with them, again.

No regrets with the Nittos, just rolled 4K with them. I would totally do Duratracs again, though.

Yeah.. I hear ya. I'll probably be shopping for new tires before next Summer's trip(s). So, I'm gathering info now.. I'm racking up miles pretty quick. So, a 2 MPG hit is at least worth being aware of before making a purchase.

Thanks for the info!

Man, if you are NOT wanting to lose any gas mileage, then do not lift, level, or get mud tires. Period.

I have always been willing to pay long-term for good looks, and off-road capability. I will not bullshit ya, the looks is the highest price

Even on the '07, I went with lighter wheels, and lighter tires, and I still lost 1 MPG because I leveled it

I'm weighing a ton of options.. NOT wanting to lose gas mileage isn't the end-all, be-all.. But, having a number (more or less) to put to it is something to put into the equations. WAY more is going on in my head than just the truck and MPG. :uhoh:

I swore I would not do anything with wheels and tires. I think it is in writing, right here on this site

I just could not take it anymore. That raked look drove me crazy for 10K miles. I went back and forth with the lowering of the rear, since the 2500 has plenty of height. Then I saw a new Denali 2500 leveled, with a cap, and a set of Toyo mud tires

The Toyo is another one I seriously considered, but they cost even more than the Nitto (which is hard to believe) and weigh even more!

Are you going to level out the front end? If so, a Blackbear tune will help get a bit of that mileage back, and at least make it feel better so you don't care as much :D

If I do anything to it, I'll probably bring the front end up a little and lose the chin spoiler.. I will probably also get some tires that have better grip for the light off-roading I do.

I'm not overly concerned about "appearances." I just want what I do to the truck to give me more functionality without too many penalties.

Don't lose the chin spoiler! That was a permanent MPG loss on my old truck, lol.

If they sell them in the USA, check out the Toyo Open Country C/T's... My dually does good in the mud with them. Flings, digs, and, grips better than the Duratracs my buddy has on his SRW... Dually's tend to suck in the mud, lol

Thanks for the suggestions!

IF I do anything with the chin spoiler, I may just trim it some. On the last CO trip, I caught it on a few things and it was pulled loose on both ends by the time I got back to a good place to pull off and try to shove it back into position. :uhoh:
