Of course you can.

Just let the guy have his fun. It's not like he installed an HHO device and deserves the ridicule. :jester:

Not ridiculing.

I did say "to each his own".

If drag racing a 1-ton duallie is fun for him...then more power to him (pun intended).

Difference is... he can haul shit AND go fast (relatively.)

No, he can't. [emoji38]

But no worries, I used to think 14's was fast too. Hell, my wife's V6 Accord would probably run in the 14's [emoji38]

Now even low 12's and 4.0 0-60 doesn't seem fast anymore. I need a Z06. :jester:

btw, I can do both too. I just own 2 tools, each does the job it was meant to do.
I never said it was fast. [emoji38]

Would I like to own a sports car? Yes. Is it financially feasible at this time? No.

I can't haul my quad or toy hauler with a car, so that rules that option out.

:dunno:

Not sure why it bothers you so much that I enjoy modding and driving a truck [emoji38]

No offense, but drag racing a 1 ton duallie makes about as much sense as me trying to haul a gooseneck trailer loaded with skidsteers with my Vette.

Right tool/toy for the job.

But, to each his own as they say.
So you've never hit WOT in anything other than your 'vette at the track?

Because going full throttle in anything other than a race car, while on a track is a complete waste.

Going by your logic :D2

I do WOT in both quite frequently.

Believe me when I say it's far more fun in the vehicle designed for going fast. ;)

Doesn't bother me in the least.

I didn't say it wasn't more fun in a sports car, but unfortunately, I don't get to drive them very often... However, the ZR1 gets up and MOVES :tmc:
The perks of my other job... Get paid to drive shiny things

Are you sure? You seem to spend a lot of time pointing out how ridiculous you think it is :rollin:

Why did you bother putting a BB tune in your truck? :dunno:

I do think trying to make a 1 ton duallie "fast" is a bit foolish, but it is your truck and your money, so no, it does not cause me any lack of sleep.

I tuned my truck for driveability reasons. Making it "fast" was also a secondary goal at the time (yes, I was foolish then too.). But if GM hadn't "Nannified" it so severely, I likely would have never tuned it. I have vowed to NEVER buy another truck that will require tuning to make it drive like it's supposed to drive. My truck would fall flat on it's face anytime you gave it significant throttle (even for normal passing). It was so bad it was to the point of being downright dangerous.

And my primary goal is better towing and increased fuel economy... But why not have fun with it at the same time. Just because it's a truck doesn't mean I have to put around. [emoji38]

The power/mileage hump is a lot higher on a diesel than it is on a gas job :D2

Otherwise I wouldn't have bought a diesel. Though, the occasional free fuel from work was a nice bonus [emoji38]

And it's not normal for a truck to do what yours did. Not even my over nannied '07 would do that. :dunno:

Mine is very much the same, and it's not predictable in any given situation. Part is engine tune, and part is trans tune. Both suck wads! When I put my foot down on the gas, I mean for it to go now, not sit there and think about if it should downshift or not, and to not pull the timing back so far that it takes of like an absent minded turtle on valium. There have been situations where it could have gotten dangerous pulling out into traffic and the truck has to sit and think about whether it will or not.

Yes it was. It was how GM tuned it. It was nannied far worse than the 5.3's were.

My stock 2000 with it's 285hp 5.3 without DBW was quicker than my 367hp 6.0 was stock. And not by a little either. It would have smoked it in both 0-60 and the 1/4 mile.

They did it worse to the Vmax trucks to protect the weakass transmission (yes, even the 4L70E is weak) for the 100K PT warranty.
