Mine was getting bad as well. Recovered it with a new Katskinz cover. I have the new car smell again.

I'm NEW... What now?
Well, I brought my truck to the car wash. It's been a week since I had the time to have it cleaned.
The new generation Rhino got sprayed in. Had a bad experience 
Put a new 130 amp Delco alternator and "Energizer" 900 CCA battery in the 'hoe yesterday. Original had a wonky voltage regulator. 15 years old, can't complain.
Typical piece of shit Chevy! They can't even make an alternator that lasts.

Installed new MSD 8.5mm spark plug wires.Eliminated a bad miss.

That's always a good thing. I'm getting new tires on Mary's car this afternoon and putting a new cat on it tomorrow. I hope it doesn't fight me to much.

It prolly will,it's just the nature of the beast
Luckily my cat had pipe extensions attached to it so I just cut the old one out with a sawzall and put the new one in with 3'' band clamps.
