Yeah, they gotta go. They can have them fuckers and take it off the price of the remote start that Ford does not install at the factory. WTF is up with that?? They sell a factory part for remote start, but it is a dealer only item

I think the steps is what makes it look old manish. One thing to think about is if the wifey goes anywhere with you in your truck, you'll need them. That's why I would take a re-look at the platinum. I think they are equipped with fold out step bars when you open the door.
I wonder what these Duramax designed ford trucks are like on cold starts. The older trucks were brutal. Remote start would not work with them unless they were plugged in.

If he wants the fold up steps he can buy a set of AMP power steps for $1000. AMP makes the ford steps and that's a lot cheaper than going to the Platinum.
Good thoughts on the AMP. They have a Platinum in Red, but man...that thing needs a debadge fiercely, and I would have to figure out if I could get that big ass metal plate off the tail gate that says P L A T I N U M. It is ridiculous.
Brian, the cold start does not appear to be an issue with this engine. Our company owns over 20 2012-13 F450s, and I was in Prudhoe Bay last week where one of my customers leased a fleet of 80 F350s so I got to ask him about extreme cold performance. He states that the GM and Ford both start excellent without being plugged in IF they have 5w40 or 5w30 Synthetic
