I would do it. But then again, I am pretty biased.
I love my Suburban. I've had it for 9 years now and it's treated me great. The only major repairs I have had to do was have the transmission rebuilt and the rear end rebuilt.
The AC compressor went out a few years ago, and the water pump also. Most everything else I have had to replace, I would consider normal wear and tear like tires, batteries, belts, and brakes.
If it's a 2006, it already has electric cooling fans, so that's a plus.
I have heard a LOT of people having problems with the heated seats on the GMT800's. They sometimes shut off after not even 30seconds.
And the blend door actuator on the HVAC have been known to fail, as well as the blower motor resistor. But the AC parts are very cheap if you don't mind reaching under the dash to replace it yourself.

Ford keys work wonders if you want to shove some decent-sized tires under there. :)

I talked to the guy today and he just took it in on trade from a friend of his, who is the original owner. Very coincidentally, this guy is from Fairmont, MN (near Iowa border, 2.5 hours from me)...which happens to be where a good friend of mine is from, Tim was the best man in my wedding in fact...anyway, he is going to go check it out for me when he gets back in town, probably Sunday, he is an OTR trucker and left south Texas this morning. Fairmont is a small town and everyone knows everyone. These 2 do know each other somewhat. Tim knew a lot about this guy and this guy knew who Tim was too. Weird.

I came across this guy on the Crownline forum I am a member of. Small world.

Anyway, he told me today that the rear DVD player and the heated seats are not working, but he has the parts on order to fix them. Everything else works and he is going to get the service records from his buddy.

For sure. I guess they are just the covrs, so I may be able to just remove them and not replace the entire assembly?

Does it have any leaks?

I will be checking for leaks.
Just poking fun. I really did like my GMT800 vehicles. I'd be seriously tempted... and you even get to bank some $$$ in the process.

$8K cash added to the bank account will definitely be a plus.

Nope. Only mod i will make is removing the chrome door handles. I probably wont even debadge it.

You will miss that engine, though. That 5.3 will never leave 4000 when you tow that boat
