Sorry I've been slack on photos but this is what we made for the rear hitch and bumper.

Is it just my eyes, the angle, or have you actually managed to bend that pintle???
The end of the bar is a little used and displays the angle you see. I've had that bar for 4-5 years. But I can show you a bent pintle, I think I still have it.

Generally those things are rated around 8 ton, and they have a 2:1 safety factor, so bending one is quite the feat.

Brian, you know that now since you purchased that plow, you pretty much guaranteed that we will not get any snow this year. More than likely we will be plagued with ice only.
I'm fine with that! I also bought 5 pallets of calcium chloride and magnesium chloride on the cheap. If we get some ice storms and I put it all out, it'll cover the cost of the ice melt and plows!

And there you have it folks! Gonna be a record warm and ice/snow free winter for North Carolina this year!

 I'm fine with that too but will pray for rain and freezing temps! Bought all this mess with 2014 profit so if I hadn't spent it, it would have been a tax bill at the end of the year.

Washed the truck and trailer today. Also notice it is sporting the plow mount now. They sent us the wrong conversion wiring harness to transition the truck headlights with the plow lights. Wait on that to come in the mail.

I ordered this LED light kit for the dump truck. I hope the set isn't as cheap as the price but it could come in handy for more than just plowing!

Amazon.com: 54 LED Emergency Vehicle Strobe Lights Bars Warning Deck Dash Grille White: Automotive

A) Yes, it's as cheap as you suspect (same kit on eBay from China is around $30)

B) White strobes are usually restricted to emergency vehicles. NC specifies amber for your use.

North Carolina General Statutes § 20-130.2 Use of amber lights on certain vehicles

All wreckers operated on the highways of the State shall be equipped with an amber-colored flashing light which shall be so mounted and located as to be clearly visible in all directions from a distance of 500 feet, which light shall be activated when at the scene of an accident or recovery operation and when towing a vehicle which has a total outside width exceeding 96 inches or which exceeds the width of the towing vehicle. It shall be lawful to equip any other vehicle with a similar warning light including, but not by way of limitation, maintenance or construction vehicles or equipment of the Department of Transportation engaged in performing maintenance or construction work on the roads, maintenance or construction vehicles of any person, firm or corporation, Radio Emergency Associated Citizens Team (REACT) vehicles, and any other vehicles required to contain a warning light. (1967, c. 651, s. 2; 1973, c. 507, s. 5; 1977, c. 464, s. 34; 1979, c. 1; c. 765; 1981, c. 390; 1991, c. 44, s. 1.)

 It's funny that you bring this up. I originally was going to order amber colored lights and for giggles talked to a buddy of mine who is a State Highway Patrol Supervisor about them. His words were, it doesn't matter what color warning/safety strobes you use as long as you are using them for intended purposes, safety. plowing. ect. He mentioned, you might have an issue if you were using white/red strobes. He said they can't enforce against white strobes because the majority of wreckers, recovery guys and majority of non-emergency vehicles use them.

I don't understand it but one of my friends owns a recovery business called "Final Notice" he runs his strobes all the time in white even when he isn't in tow.

Yeah, NC is really only super strict about blue. They have so many vehicles listed as authorized for red that I can't see them seriously enforcing it unless someone was being a jackass. They do have a very specific prohibition against white lights on the rear of vehicles while they're moving forward. They're the only state I've seen with a whole separate statute just for that.

I thought I would try the lights I already ordered. The only concern I have if I mount 2 strips where my windshield meets the headliner on either side of the mirror, how much light will fill the cab.

I will try and shroud the light if needed against the windshield. If it doesn't work I'll be ordering this.

LAMPHUS SolarBlast 12W LED Tow Truck Emergency Vehicle Windshield Dash Strobe Warning Light ( OTHER COLOR AVAILABLE ) - AMBER WHITE https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009EFJB2K/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_WUOSub06B5MRC

For the rear of the truck I had intended mountain one strip but I might could get by with just LED spotlights for reverse and a back up alarm.
