HorsePower- if it don't scare ya it aint enough
OK, most of you who know me, know my truck had a very rough first 2 years...MANY warranty trips to dealer. I was literally on a first name basis with my SA and he recognized my voice when I would call.
Then all was OK for a couple of years. Then about 3 years ago, at about 40K miles, I replaced all 4 ball joints ($1200) and front brakes, including rotors ($500).
Today I brought it in for rear brakes (they were grinding pretty bad, I knew I had a stuck caliper). They found a few other things too:
Rear brakes, rotors and calipers: $880
Front sway bar bushings/alignment: ~$200
RT upper ball joint (warranty, even though time was up, mileage was not, so they warrantied it): N/C
They also confirmed what I knew...leaking power steering lines. As well as leaking oil cooler lines and trans fluid lines. That would have cost me another ~$1200 or so. I declined as they aren't leaking bad enough to drip on my floor yet. Just enough to wet the lines and undercarriage so far.
Why can't GM figure out how to keep fluids in their engines/trans/PS/etc? Jesus H Christ, they have building cars for over 100 years now.
I may just pay off the wife's Accord and go buy me a new Ram or F150 and tell GM
Oh, and in case you are wondering...my truck now has just under 57K miles. No, that is not a typo, NOT 157K miles....57K miles.![]()
Had the same type of problems constantly with my f150 sold it with 46k miles on it after over 6k in the front end brakes ect. Not the first problem with my gmc guess every brand has its lemon
