The new Canyon, Frontier and Titan have me curious.

I was actually considering the new Canyon awhile back.

But then I bought a 7000+ lb boat/trailer.

It doesn't help that the new GM trucks are butt-ugly either. :puke:

The new 5.0L Cummins in the Titan might serve you very well.

I would have dumped it as soon as the warranty quit covering the problems...but that's just me. My wife's 2014 Sierra is going in tomorrow for the fourth time...it constantly has an airbag warning light on. I'm getting ready to write the demand letter to GM requesting a buyback.

Have you even had a truck long enough to run the warranty out?

If I was in the market I'd really give the Ram 1500 a serious consideration. My mom has the (less powerful) Hemi and 8 speed in her Jeep and it's a pretty sweet setup once you get used to it shifting through 8 gears and it's been averaging 22mpg on the highway, though it's geared quite a bit higher than Rams with a 3.09 axle ratio. Also, I think Chrylser's Uconnect system is drastically better than GM or Ford's. Pretty sure I'd probably end up putting my fist through the MFT screen on a Ford.

Trucks aren't built as good as they used to be in some ways. Materials have gotten thinner and of a lesser quality all to save weight so they can pack more creature features in front of use. The downfall is shit rots away faster especially in your environment with the stuff they put on the roads when that white stuff falls from the sky.

Undercarriages of southern trucks last for a long time since we usually only deal with rains and dirt. Closer to the coasts and the deterioration from salt air sets in.

An all plastic or stainless vehicle may be the way to go, hell DeLorean was onto something. lol

meh, I am not buying the salt as an excuse. The truck has 57K miles for Christ's sake.

Yes, it is 7 years old, but my last 2 trucks I owned longer and they did not have these issues.

I blame GM's cost cutting and sourcing cheap Chinese parts (i.e. ball joints and rotors) during the pre-bankruptcy years when this truck was being developed.

Lol, my '06 is in better shape than your POS and has twice as many miles. You better trade it in.

.

Your 06 is a much better built truck.

#truth! I'm not debating that quality has decreased over the years, I agree with you on that. Just stating that our environment is easier on these newer vehicles and their " quality" parts.
