First let me say my appoligies for missing this thread.

Second, the awesome MPG Dennis is getting is due to the fact that he has converted the truck over to AMSOIL on all fluids. Just goes to show a high quality synthetic makes a difference.

Third, Dennis, that looks like it will be a ton of fun when you get it out and a chance to enjoy it.

Forth, that is all!

That's AMSOIL in the engine only... If this trend continues, I'll get 12 now that the transmission is done, and once the rear end gets done

I should look into a solar panel,we have tons of sunshine here

I have one 950 CCA deep cycle battery in my toy hauler,seems to work good.In the mornings I fire up the generator so I can have fresh coffee,gotta have fresh coffee,right?

Percolated coffee is way better than what comes out of a machine, unless it's an electric percolator.

My generator uses .8 to 1.1 gallons per hour at 50% capacity...
with a 30 gallon take, I'm good for awhile

My brother does this and it boggles my mind.

He will do all his city driving and heavy accelerating whether he is towing or not. Once he has his cruise control set on the highway he will reset his average mpgs. He could be going down hill and flat ground. He always shoots me a text or sometimes I am with him and he does it. I tell him, go through an entire tank, fill it up and then tell me what you got...

From fill up to fill up is the best way to do it!

Since I forgot to update after my last big trip, I managed to squeeze 7.5 MPG out of the thing. Still better than I was expecting

Just upgraded the outdoor speakers and stereo... Dual! brand sucks... Budget JVC instead!

The speakers were 5.25" Jensens, and I upgraded to 6.5" Exiles... Much better sound!

We completed another trip in ours. Amazing how a bigger truck, and bigger trailer gets better mileage than our last one. We got 9.7 in mountain driving. If I was running interstates like the flatlanders down south I would be pushing 11 I bet. I am happy!

Man, I had to absolutely BABY this thing to get that, and never went over 60. It is a pain in the ass. I just wanted to see what I would get this time.

Normal driving, or speeds over 60 kill it. Overall I am pleased, and the 6 speed and the 4.10s make all the difference in the world for a gas engine. This set up is so damn stable, and really a joy to pull. The trailer is 2000 pounds heavier than my Jayco I pulled with the half ton. One thing that is interesting is how stable those 10 ply lo-pro 20s are with 75 PSI in them. Corners real well.

I am doing the axle flip on the trailer, and getting taller tires. It will kill my mileage, but I need the extra few inches to back it up into my back yard. there is an incline, and the trailer bumper just digs into my yard, preventing a clean approach

You'll get even better if you go 50!

I drive whatever the posted speed limit is... That ranges from 50 to 75 on the highway... But the 4 speed really does not have the gear spread needed for towing... Basically keep it in 3rd all the time, unless completely flat land, and it goes into 2nd a lot

I towed my trailer across town on the 24s... It may be due to the fact, that the tires aren't 10 ply... But it felt... Weird
No issues on the 17s with 10 plys

Are you going to build an extra step for after the flip kit? I don't have that issue with mine, as it sits higher to begin with....

I need to find a wheel for the pin so I can pull the trailer in forward, and have the doors on the proper side

Nope, the step is perfect for it, almost too low now. They have the "off-road" version of my trailer which has the flip, and diamond plate all along the bottom. Otherwise completely the same, even the step
