Just was wondering if anyone is running this particular filter or any brand that this filter fits. It is for older chevy V8 engines. Thanks.

Thanks, but no. I scored a pretty good supply of PureOne filters recently to go with the AC Delcos I have. I should be in good shape for a good while. Thanks for the offer though. I'll see if I know anyone else that might be interested

Okay, no problem. Ask around for me then. I'll let these go for a good price. :)

Nick, when I changed my oil last month, I noticed that my AMSOIL filter was a lot smaller than my older filter. It had a different number on it also. Why did they change the filters for the GM LS series engines?? :dunno:

AMSOIL updates their filter information according to the manufacture specification. So if for some reason GM has changed their spec's on the filter then that is why it changed with AMSOIL's filter. What is the part number of the filter you just installed and what was the old part number?

I don't have the part number from the old one, my wife threw it away already because I left it sitting in a ziploc bag outside.
And I can get the part number for the new one when I get back home on Friday. I'm in Springfield Missouri right now on a business trip.

Yep. That sumbitch was easily 1 1/2 inches shorter. :fume:
I also noticed that it says 15k miles change interval now, the other filter said 25k miles interval.
But that's not an issue, I change it every 7500-10k miles. I just hate that its so much smaller. Its even harder to thread on because its shorter than the oil pan. Its recessed now. And I just realized-ordered the same filter I usually get, but they sent these smaller filters this time. I'm thinking about switching back to the WIX filters if they truly changed the filter for these engines.
