How much fuel pressure should my 2004 Silverado 5.3 have? How can I check it?

Check fuel pressure key on engine off..should be 52-55..key on engine running 55-60.

Yes, this is what you need. Anything below 50 will cause issues with the engine not wanting to start properly. My 2002 had 48 psi at idle and it didn't want to start. I replaced the pump and now it cranks right up ever time.

You can get a fuel pressure tester from Advance Auto, Auto Zone or O'Rileys for free. You have to put down a deposit but you get it back when you return the tool.
