What is wierd is that the GMC and Chevy powertrains looked exactly the same and they had such swings in where they placed. Sounds like they had Varying driving skills with the test drivers.
It's not like one brand had 4000 horsepower and the others have 10. Most buyers are going to go right back to their favorite brand for their next truck anyway. I know I'd be headed to GMC for my next one (most likely).
BUT
GM is not winning the styling contest these days...
Virtually every crewcab half ton bought is used as a car and maybe to tow a boat or camper occasionally. It's almost embarrassing that they still put that tiny bed on them so they can be sold as "trucks".
I do think every one of them looks pretty damn good.
I was surprised the newly designed GM twins didn't walk away with it. I thought Ram put in a good showing, but understand how they dinged it on payload (I tried loading a pallet of brick in mine once....yeah right!). Ford had the best all around performance it seemed like, it will be interesting to see how their updates go.
I know most buyers go back and buy what they always have, but I am not brand loyal for the most part and enjoy seeing head to head comparisons. If I was buying today, I think I would still go back to Ram....tomorrow, who knows?
