WOO HOO.

My company sled Taurus joined the 100K club today.

All it took to get to 100K was:

  • 1 transmission at 52K
  • 1 master cylinder at 60K
  • 1 blower motor at 72K
  • 1 coil pack at 64K
  • 1 radiator
  • 2 EGR controller valves
  • 1 EGR valve
  • 2 head lights (filled with water)
  • 1 right rear wheel bearing/hub at 44K
  • 1 right front brake caliper at 77K
  • 2 sets of brake pads at 33K and 87K
  • 1 set of front rotors at 87K
  • 1 turn signal switch

Thanks god this thing was a company car.

If you look in the middle of the steering wheel next time you're driving it the problem is circled for you. :jester:

Sounds like a pretty eventful 100k. I thought we were supposed to be past problems like transmissions, master cylinders, or radiators in the five digit mileage by now. :dunno:

My brother had an 01 taurus that made it to 100k with only the motor mounts going bad.

I had a 2002 Taurus...
Put 110,000 on it before I sold it... only thing that was ever done to it was a blower motor and rear shocks.

Must have been a lemon. My in law's have a 2002 Taurus with over 200k on it and all they've replaced were the struts, and the alternator. The neighbor across the street has an 01 that has well over 300k on it. Not sure what he's had to do to it, but he drives that fugger every day to work which is about a 120 mile round trip for him. Just sayin...

I despise the Taurus, always have. But honestly everyone I know that had one always had pretty good luck with theirs.

My uncle has one with 400K on it that still even smells new inside and my friend on the internet has one with 600K on it and he's only on his third oil change and fifth tank of gas. I've heard our first trip to Mars will also be in a Taurus and that's at least 36 million miles or so, each way.

Just sayin.
