Hey guys, been a long time since I've posted, I was curious if anyone had ever painted the plastic trim on there trucks that had faded back to black? Fords are horrible about fading trim, and since I have a step side, I have a lot of trim... Any tips would be appreciated!

Duplicolor bumper coating will make them look brand new. I've used it on my Jeep plastics for years. Works great and lasts a long time. Pick it up at any part store.

Go look at my Jeep build thread. You'll see how well it works. http://www.truckmodcentral.com/forums/f64/project-jeep-cherokee-1785/

What about prep? I know I've used some back to black over the years and other crap, would something like dawn dish detergent take that off? Just trying to find ways to spend money lol, but I'm sick of the faded look

Just strip em with the detergent. This stuff works great.

If you wanna make double sure it sticks, use some adhesion promoter before spraying. I painted my upper bumper pad years ago and used Adhesion Promoter and it worked great and has never peeled or chipped.

Ive got some adhesion promoter somewhere.... Wonder if that stuff will work on a tool box as well? I need to redo it too!

Ive heard of people using Krylon Fusion spray paint for the plastic on our trucks.

One of these days I should really do the plastic parts on my truck like the bumper step pad and running boards since the Back To Black Ive been using is only temporary.

Ive got a tonneau cover that covers up the bedrail caps so theyre not as much of an issue.
