Go with a ram I love mine.... Look for a sport if you like the painted bumpers the interiors are much nicer. They don't seem to be losing value as bad as some vehicles in my area anyway. 09's in my area still sell for high 20k's. mileage is good on average around 17 highway 20-22 from what I've seen with my 2012 hemi. Plus they look awesome!

I'm still torn on what I'd like to do. I've even gone as far as looking at a Wrangler Unlimited and Subaru Legacy Sport to get a feel for what I'd like but I just can't shake the desire for a truck again.

I'm wanting to flip the Mustang this summer because of the numerous transmission issues I've been having. The tranny crunches going into 2nd and occasionally even locks it out if it's below about 40 degrees. It's been into Ford service 6 times for the issue within the year and even Ford engineering took a look - no solution and no replacement either. The bumper to bumper warranty pops this summer and I don't want to deal with the hassle next winter (granted it has a powertrain warranty for another 2 years). It's a pretty common issue that a lot of folks over on Mustang forums are complaining about. Some do it, some don't. Beyond that, it isn't the best winter car coupled with the potential transmission issues, I'm looking at all of my options. I know I can get more for it in the height of summer than any other time - especially in Indiana.

I loved my Silverado but wanted something with a bit more usable interior (and somehow ended up with a Mustang...). I'm definitely wanting to go crew cab this time around as much as I liked my regular cab. I'd be interested in driving a 2014 Silverado but I'm not sold on the looks yet. I'll have to hold out another year and then I question what kind of a deal I can swing in the first model year. The Ram was nice driving and I drove an F150 with the 5.0 about a year and a half ago. If I go Ram I'd like to hold out until I can find one with the 8 speed transmission but I'm thinking there will always be something down the line I'll want to wait on and with that mentality, I won't ever bite the bullet and work the deal. This is the Ram I've been eyeing. I'm not sold on the Fords despite everyone else seemingly falling for the new Ecoboost engine.

Since you mentioned the interiors, RAM trucks have the best interiors of any truck on the market right now (and GM the worst). Their interiors are the main reason I keep going back to them. It appears the '14 GM interiors will be vastly improved over the current models but it will just put them on the same playing field. Based on the K2 pictures only, I probably still prefer the interior layout of RAMs. I agree with others to wait for the 8spd paired with the Hemi. You shouldn't have any issue finding one in a few months which should be in the peak season to sell the Mustang. I'm not sure about your area, but the dealers here give $10k off of '13 RAMs without heavy negotiating.

The interior is the part I like the least in the new Ram. Too busy and harsh plastic for me. I love the exterior styling of the Ram...

I agree that the GM interiors are not all that great either. They didn't put much effort in the design in my truck.

But they have sitches and touchscreens and LED DRL's in the next one. Hells yes.

I can only hope you are kidding. God I hate LED DRLs. Probably the silliest trend in vehicle styling since the horrid 1980s. I bet we look back and laugh at their dated look in a few years.

Yep. I honestly think I'd immediately invest in a headlight swap. Should be easy and cheap enough. Surely, someone with a mid-level truck would want to trade.

Well as far as resale value on rams i am shocked by mine. Looking at ss trucks normal stealerships offered 23k-ish on mine and gibson where i bought it over 2 years ago offered 25k.... so thats not much loss for me over 2 years..

My truck has been rock solid and only issues ive had where caused by me or aftermarket parts.

The new rams look bitchin. But overall the gm trucks i see from at least around here hold awesome value.
