Why buy new when you can restore?
I've been looking at cars for a few months now. Originally started looking at Cavaliers (2.2L 4cyl), then looked at the 98+ Grand Am/Alero (3.4L V6) (test drove an Alero, but was in worse shape than I wanted), then turned to the 00+ Bonneville. Almost had a 02 Bonneville SE (3.8L V6) that had under 110k, but needed head/intake gaskets for cheap, but then the seller sold it the morning I was going to look at it (pissed me off!). Test drove a 01 SE, but it had more issues with it than I wanted and they wouldn't come down on price. After striking out and just not finding what I wanted in my price range, I took a brake looking for cars seriously. In that time frame, I realized if I had bought that first 02 SE, I would've had twice as much in the car by the time I bought it and fixed everything on it. So I started searching for about twice what my original budget was (obviously in the mean time, I was saving money up). Then I decided, you know, I really liked the Bonneville for the car it was, but would like a little more performance (seriously, who doesn't??). So I started searching for 00+ Bonneville SSEi's. In case you don't know, these have 3.8L supercharged engines.
My searching ended with looking relentlessly for SSEi's in my price range. (side note: people drive the piss out of the Bonneville's!!) I struggled to find a car in good shape with decent miles. I got close to getting a 01 SSEi with 125k, but it needed a fender and the seller wouldn't take my offer even after having the car posted for over 2 months.
I finally found my perfect car late January. Called on it a week after thinking about it, and looked/bought it on Feb 3rd. It is a 2002 SSEi with 158k and all the options and color combination I really wanted.
If it is alright with the Admins, I'll just post a link to the forum that I have all my info on right now. It's a good bunch of Bonneville nuts that are a wealth of knowledge.
LINK (I think you guys can easily figure out who I am on there.
)
There's also another link at the top of the first post for more info too.
If there are objections, please let me know (probably a PM) and I'll post up pics and info on here instead.
Hey guys! Long-time, no-see!!
and yes.....

This will get maintenance parts obviously, but the Z71 needs to get back to being the project and get some work done on it!!!
