In that price range you can buy a nice Hyundai with alot less miles so look around that lot a bit more.

I had an Elantra before my truck and it was a great car and I only got rid of it because I wanted a truck again.

That's was my original thinking but haven't found anything yet. Problem is trying to find something in a 4-door but still looks sporty for a 16 yr old girl. (like a Camry or even like the the Pontiac G6 we were also looking at.) I guess just have enough choices here in Longview. Only car dealers that have anything under $9,000 are note tooters and most of their cars have rebuilt titles.

I suggest buying her a beater, as cheap as you can go for a 1st car. I made the mistake of getting my 16 y/o son a nice "first car", and it lasted less that 48 hours after he got his license.

Totaled it.:fume: Thank god he didn't get hurt :halo:...well only his feelings

Have you trekked over to Tyler or maybe Shreveport yet? There would probably be more paperwork, buying a car from out of state. But, I bet the guys in Shreveport deal with that a good bit and could show you the way.. :dunno:

Both of my brothers totalled their first vehicles within 3 weeks of owning them. One slid his S10 into a tree on an icy road, probably going too fast around a corner with a few friends in the truck. He rebuilt it and then totalled and rebuilt it again.

My other brother rolled his Neon after going down an unpaved road down a mountain. He put it on its side against a pole. Im pretty sure he pulled the ebrake and tried drifting it around a corner.

I have yet to total a vehicle. My dumbest mistake was sliding my S10 sideways into a sign and doing $600 in damage fooling around at college.

Thanks Joe. Majority of those are out of our price range....no more than $9K. In that price range we have looked at dozens of cars that either had over 120K miles or the interior or exterior was junk. Found a 2008 G6, 1-owner, leather, remote start, heated seat.....loaded out......that has the 3.5L V6 and 85,000 miles. Originally asking $10,500 and have gotten him (private owner) down to $8950. Taking it to the local Pontiac/Buick dealership tomorrow where it was purchased new. If mechanic gives go ahead we will probably go ahead and buy it. Will let you all know.:tmc:
