This time around i went back to my brand of choice. Happened to be cruising on base, noticed an old '72 Blazer. Waited a weekend, price dropped a lil. Took a better look at it, test drove, was sold immediately.
Background from what I was told is.
Complete rebuilt 350, mild cam and "some head work", holley 400 carb, manifold from close inspection has a pro comp stamp, filter lid has edelbrock on it, not that it definitely means anything. LT headers, down into an H type exhaust that has flowmasters (sounds loud/mildly good....not a big fan of it. want something more mellow) not sure what transmission is in it, though its a 3 speed. was told it has a 3000rpm stall torque converter (had to look up exactly what this means/works. think i need something lower for better fuel economy/highway speeds(?))
body is straight, no major dings/dents. rubber gaskets were just all replaced by previous owner. no AC/heat, real rough & fun needs some work on it kind of truck. but starts up everytime and cruises around town with ease.
already replaced the non matching tires with a set of 35x12.5x15 BFG Mud terrains. wasn't my first choice of tire, because i really wanted a a/t. kind of was in a need the shit now situation though.
pix coming soon. if anyone has some much needed info about these trucks, please pass it on. thanks.
