I'm eyeing a Laramie once they ditch the 645RFE for the ZF 8HP on the 5.7 so maybe there's a chance the Hemi might actually perform like it has 395hp. Also depends on what I think of the new GM twins and the Grand Cherokee's 2014 freshening.

Would be good if the ZF 8HP get extended to the Ram 2500. But waiting for a 2014 Grand Cherokee seems to worth, unless you have to haul some stuff that wouldn't fit into the Grand Cherokee :cheers:

I doubt it'll handle the abuse required for a 3/4 ton but that would be sweet. I'm just starting to have V8 withdrawals and sometimes miss my truck though I really like the size of the GC and there isn't a truck that size that compares. The 14 GCs and GM twins should be hitting about the same time the 8 speed Hemi becomes available in the Ram so that isn't an issue and it'll probably be atleast a year before I go shopping (if I go). Also, while they went borderline overboard with chrome on the Ram they're actually removing a lot of it from the Jeep. Dropping the chrome grille, chrome body side molding, and chrome molding on the lift gate.

Based on the horror stories of people trying to get dealers to even touch a Grand Cherokee with the old MB TDI they used a few years back I wouldn't touch the VM Motori TDI with a 10' pole. It'd be all I could do to trust a local dealer with a common engine.
