Who has replaced the blades on their GMT900 and what are you using?

I still have the OEM blades after two years on mine but I doubt they will make it through the upcoming rainy / winter season. I know these are a special type of blade. What are the choices for aftermarket ones?

The OE blades sucked, so I replaced mine with Bosch ICON blades. They work much better than stock in that they do a better job of clearing the windshield, no streaking, and have virtually no chattering.

Although the PIAA Silicone blades I've used in the past worked better since they left a coat of silicone on the windshield that allowed the water to bead up and wipe away much easier. It's just that last I checked, PIAA didn't make a blade in the bracketless style we need for the 900's.

So when these are due to be replaced in another year or so, I'll check around and see if there is something else better. As usual!

My OEM blades have been great... but the truck only has 14K on the clock and sits in the garage all the time. That and we have had almost ZERO rain in the last two years. Are the PIAA blades a direct fit?

I still have the OEM's on my truck after about 2 1/2 years. They are still holding up great even after the snow and ice.

There are not a lot of choices out there for the GMT900. I found this out recently. I too have the Bosch blades and O'reillys was the only one that had them around here.

Autozone idiots said they couldn't even get them. They said it was a dealer item. The O'reilly guys had to do some digging, but found some for me. They were about $30 a piece, but good blades are worth it.

My passanger side blade was fine, but the drivers side had a torn area right in the stinking middle.:fume:

Yeah, no PIAA's for our trucks. They'd have to be bracketless. I had the Bosch blades on my CTS, which are OE for that car. But I wouldn't spend that much $$$ for them locally. Just get 'm on Amazon. I got a set a few months ago for $36, shipped.

In fact, I just checked now and they have the Bosch 443 blades, 22" as a set for $30.

Tell me about it. I rarely shop there, but on a very very rare occasion they will actually have something I need that O'reilly's doesn't.

When I was in college I managed a privately owned parts house and repair shop. We used to love to call the Autozone right across the street and ask them for things like a ...Thermostat for a 66 vw beetle.

They would look for ever before coming back on the phone and saying it was a dealer item. :rollin:
