Will a drop in bed liner from a 99 and up F 2 and 350 fit the 98 and below F series? And, will the 97 and up F150, fit the old body style Fords?

No.

Beds for each generation are completely different. Even the wheelwells are in different locations. You might be able to modify one work... but I doubt it.

I do not like rolling or spray in liners. From experience, I can tell you they do not protect like adrop in does.

A drop in may give some cushion for something falling into the bed, but every one I have had or seen held dirt and debris underneath it and rusted the bed floor. I would much rather have a spray/roll in or just live with a dented/scratched up bed.

They distribute weight a lot better. I have waves in one truck bed from hauling running gear. When I started using drop in liners I did not have that issue in my other trucks. I have heard how they can "rust" out a bed. But I have yet yo have an issue with that. I think climate and location has a lot to do with that.

The rock guard/bed liner that's on my fenders is 1/8 of an inch thick... I don't see a drop in bed liner being much thicker/durable than that...

Go plywood, in that case

This is true mostly, but roll on is not in the same galaxy as some spray ins like Rhino, Arma, Line X, etc

I wish I knew what brand the spray in liner is in my wife's truck. It was so bad we installed a drop in over it.
