Im still undecided about keeping my truck or not especially since I got the new job. I love my truck but it doesnt have enough room I really want a quad cab actually mega cab and wish I had got one to begin with instead of the bee. And for where I live I dont really like the lowered truck or "sport" truck look anymore kinda been wanting a diesel too. Weird how things change I guess when I got my truck I didnt think I would even want something else.

Plus a diesel is much better for towing(snowmobile trailer and boat) and gets way better mileage even when lifted which of course it would be. Whenever I decide what im gonna do the mod bug will hit heavy again on something

To see if you "REALLY" want a newer, bigger truck..
Keep this one for at least 6 months... cut "ALL" unnecessary spending...pile up cash and six months from now, It will be an "EASY" decision to know what you want to do.

Just my opinion...:dunno:

It seems to me that seating capacity is the priority, so that begs the question... How much/often do you use the bed of the truck? If the answer is "Not much" then why not consider an SUV instead?

The one thing I hate about most 4 door pickups is that it means you have a smaller/shorter bed (usually), which means you don't use it as a "truck" that much anymore. For me, the purpose of owning a pickup is to carry stuff that won't fit, or that you wouldn't want, inside your vehicle. If you end up with a 4'x4' bed, how useful is that?

My younger brother bought a used HD diesel truck and he loves it plus he didn't take the loss that the first owner took when they bought it new. He uses it to yow his race toys around plus it's 4x4 which he loves as well. Now I do agree that the new Dodge trucks look awesome it's just the price on them that's very high.

It's not heaven . . . it's Iowa!
*I'd* keep the truck you have now. But if you're gonna trade, I'd get a 06 MEga. Seems like that'd be the most cost effective. You can always lift it later as $$$ allow. :dunno:

I second Bernie's concern on the bed.

I don't know what Dodge offers (or offered on older years), but GM offered a quad cab standard bed truck in the 03-06 body. You could get this in either a 1500HD (6.0L gas only) or a 2500HD (6.0L gas or 6.6L Duramax diesel). So you could have your quad/crew cab and keep a 6'6" bed. In the 07+, I think you could get this configuration in only the 2500HD trucks.

I'm not sure if you wanted to stick with Dodge or not, but just an idea.

'06 - '08 quad cab ( not mega ) lifted, best looking Dodge hands down. New ones are ugly, as are '01-. Just my blunt opinion

I am right there with you on trading it in or keeping it. How many more payments do you have left? If it is 18 months or less I say double up on the payments and pay it off. I bought a cheap DD and really got tired of it after 6 months. I am paying close to a grand for my truck each month and said why am I driving this POS when I have a nice truck in the dirveway? Also on the diesel do you plan to mod it for speed, power and torque? If so get the 6.7 and do the deletes gets the same milage as the 5.9 and is reliable as the 5.9 as well. The 6.7 is built better and will handle the power power. Now the used 5.9 are priced for Kings right now. Plus the 2010 prices they have going on at 0% APR is so damn tempting to get one! Plus 10-15k off the price too. So a 50k truck you could walk out the door for 35-40K and each payment all goes ot the principle. I am not a fan of buying used at all unless I plan for the vehicle to be a toy, not a DD. Seen people with too many problems buying used. Sure they have there perks by saving the money at intial cost. Yet if you plan to keep the truck for more than 4 years and have big plans for it, than buy new and forget it. A.) it is only money and B.) you can not take it with you. C.) who ever you marry or with gets all your debt so live life my friend and dont settle!!
