Time Warner DVRs suck. We've been through about half a dozen of them. They work for a while, then start corrupting the recordings... then just quit. They are more than happy to replace them without question, but anything you might have wanted to watch is gone.

I want to buy a decent DVR and bypass the cable garbage.

    What do you have?

Who ever makes Direct's is what we have. It's lasted 3 years and it's time for an upgrade actually. Going whole house DVR this time.

I just have an i3 HTPC with a dual tuner card that I use as a DVR. Our cable company sucks so I'll probably either ditch TV all together or switch to DirecTV when I move out.

I just have a cocmast motorola, but if you want the best DVR out there buy a Moxy box and get an M-card from your cable company.

We have AT&T U-verse's DVR which is made by Cisco. DISH Network and DirecTV in the past but don't remember who made them.

No complaints with any of them.
