What did you wind up paying for the battery?

My new battery was 169. I got the AGM the one I wanted was cheaper but was out of stock.

I tried to like the Tacoma, I really did, but I decided it wasn’t going to work for me. Back in the Ram club now. I guess the good thing is, with the resale value on the Toyota, it didn’t cost me much to find out.

I owe a couple of more payments on this dinosaur of mine. I'll probably rock it for another year before I get another one. That is if it holds up for another year. The damn thing is 12 years old.

I broke down and ordered both left and right valve covers for it. I apparently didn't clean the left side good enough. I also read that just replacing or cleaning the left side didn't prove any results for the oil consumption on some of the engines. I guess we'll find out. I just need a little warmer weather. It's due for an oil change, so hopefully I can get this done within the next couple of weeks.

The valve covers came today and since I was off work and it was a beautiful day I went ahead and swapped them out. The left side is easy enough to do, I think I was done with that side in about 45 minutes. The right side on the other hand took me damn near 2 hours to do. There's a lot more shit in the way on that side, and of course I stopped for a smoke. After I got it all back together, I started it up and low and behold, no smoke came out the tail pipe. I let it run for a bit and checked for leaks. It seems all is good. I wanted to change the oil in it, but that's going to have to wait til this weekend. I think GM really screwed the pooch with this design. They should have left well enough alone and kept the pcv valve. A $6 part cost me over $130.
