I'll go along with that.

That's just crazy enough to be cool!

David reports that the 4,450-pound GNX clone gets about 28 mpg on his daily drive to work and has gotten a best of 36 mpg on the open road

36 highway in a 4450lb vehicle with a 6.6l diesel. This is why Hybrids are retawded.

Agreed.

Years ago, I had "TWO" of the GM diesels.
A new Cadillac Seville, and later a new Oldsmobile.

On the Olds, I had true duals put on it with an 'x' pipe to balance the exhaust pulses.
Then I had the injector pump turned up by a good diesel mechanic.
He did a few other tweaks at the same time. Not really sure WHAT...but after that...it ran about as well as the stock 350 gassers but would get over 25mpg running around town and would get over 30 on the road if you kept it below 80/85.

The Grandpa I later sold it to, swore up and down, that he made a trip and got over 35mpg out of it, when running on the interstate at posted speed.

I know most of the engines were junk but the CONCEPT was good.
It just was not implemented very well at all.
