Wash, clay, full detail, and some lightning.

Washed, clay-barred, waxed, and detailed the truck this weekend. I haven't shot much this month, so this seemed like a good opportunity. As I was driving to the spot I wanted to shoot at, I noticed I was heading straight towards a bunch of dark clouds, and lightning. Turned around, and headed to a parking lot that I've gotten kicked out of before, but I got lucky this time.

Dan the truck looks great man, I love that shot with the lighting in the background. It's like an add for the pickle. Way cool.

did you actually get that lightning in the shot or was that added in later?

2 is a nice shot too, imo needs to be a bit darker.. idk maybe an overlay layer would be cool..

3 is cool too, just wish it was more vibrant and got the whole truck.

4 would be a sweet picture except idk where that orangish glowish light is but you can see it on the front chrome bumper.. light pole maybe?

Yeah I forgot to desaturate those when I was editing. I got rid of 'em in all the other pictures though, so 4 out of 5 ain't bad.

well I did read it... but I just didnt get what you mean by "Not a drop-in sky, just edited on a separate layer." but now that I look at it, I can kinda see a change in color about the trees... looks like you darkened the clouds a bit.. right? .. and i can actually see that in almost all the pictures, but it took a couple times of looking at to see it, so I think it looks nice.

and yeah nice job fixing 4, looks cooler now.

Nice pics Dan. The first on is my favorite. The painters tape works good. I tape off all the plastic trip on my truck before doing any kind of polishing or waxing.

Yeah for number 1, 2, and 4 I saved a separate RAW file that was underexposed (to bring out the sky), and then put that over top of the one exposed for the truck. It was hard to get the stuff around the trees looking just right, so I left it as-is.

The lightning is real.
