I just have a thing for vintage electronics. I have well over a hundred old transistor radios from the 50s and 60s. I'm just eaten up with this stuff.

Do it! Vinyl is the coolest!

Well my current equipment is not old. The TT is vintage but the Denon preamp / surround and the three Adcom amps are modern stuff. I do have two sets of Advent 6003 (rare!) speakers in my 8 speaker surround / subwoofer setup now.

I will look around tomorrow. I need an excuse to get the Nomad out and ride it.

There is a high end stereo/component shop close by. Last XMAS they had a pretty impressive collection of TTs.

I will check it out.

I remember my dad buying one of the first Sony "pocket transistor" radio in the early 70s(?). I remember asking, Sony?, who the heck is Sony? and the lady at the PX explained that it was a Japanese Company....I remember my Dad saying JAPANESE?, since when do THEY make radios.... LOL....god love him, and may he RIP.

Isn't that amazing?, I mean looking at where we are today. I mean the early 70s wasn;t THAT long ago.....

Who cares? It makes ya happy, you enjoy it, and I say: all power to ya.

My eccentricity is vintage calculators ( I have a WHOLE bunch), vintage slide rulers and old engineering text books. I have some pretty rare 1920s vintage, original print, German language, thermodynamics books.

see....I love THAT stuff......among old vintage stuff like stereos, electronics. I have my Dad's TI calculator from the early 70s. It takes 4 AAs (!), has red LEDs, and has battery life of, AT LEAST, 45 minutes... LMAO.

This one was a fancy one.... it actually had a memory button where one could store 1 number.....wo-hooooooooooo (!) :D
