Crime of the Century was fantastic on Original Master Vinyl. I'd recommend an old Marantz belt drive or maybe even a Sony.

I'm running Sony Magnesium Base table with a Grado cart right now. Awesome old table!

I'll snap a pic for ya.

Please, do that.

I seem to recall a pretty hot JVC Granite base "linear tracking" turn-table of-the-day. I always had a afinnity for one of those.

Are cartridges and stylus' still available? I seem to recall the Shure MarkIV moving magnets as being good.

I alos remember the moving coil cartridges were the HOT set-up with a coil amp:rollin:

Here are some pics. The Pioneer receivers of the day weren't as nice looking as the Marantz s of the day, but still impressive.

The EQ is an old Techniques SH8020. Believe it or not, all of these components are multiple voltage input. The work all over the world. My Dad worked for the USG and they were bought at a PX overseas.

LOL

Man... some fine old stuff was bought at the BX/PX back in the day and brought back to the states. COOL!

Here is my Sony table with my current audio setup. I'll never part with it willingly.

yeah...LOL

I remember cruising the baracks with my dad in his (real military issue, wth .50 cal mount, LOL) jeep (heck, i musta been 13) and, EVERY WINDOW of the barracks was sporting the back-end of a stereo tower/components and speakers...... LOL

BOSE 901s, Klipsch Heresys, HK, Infinity.... AWESOME. I also had wet dreams over a Grundig reel-to-reel (sold in Germany only). Heck, it stickered, IN THE PX. for $1100....and, that's 1979 $s...

Like I said, my TT bit the dust in a move. They didn't remove the counter-weight and it snapped off of the tone-arm. bummer...

I think I am going to buy one to play my vinyl again.

Do it! Vinyl is the coolest!

Well my current equipment is not old. The TT is vintage but the Denon preamp / surround and the three Adcom amps are modern stuff. I do have two sets of Advent 6003 (rare!) speakers in my setup now.

ya know, my mom still has a 50s vintage Grundig HiFi, world band radio with mulitple LP player including 78-speed.....

Has push buttons for UKW (FM), MW (AM), KW (Ultra Short Wave), and LW (Short Wave), and had pretty good reception.

Has one of those glass plates with names of cities all over it on the frequency dial. GOTTA be a classic now......
