Vid and pics of river boating last night

A friend of mine at work has a 17' outlaw boat with a gm 383 crate engine, berkley pump with a race nozzle, (it can go 78mph!) anyways the engine has water manifolds, a closed loop cooling exchanger system, a QT-100 re-inforced bottom, holley carb, two bucket seats and rear bench. its a blast on the river, as most boats go about 40-50mph, its fun blowing them out of the water...

the video is from my cell phone unfortunatley, so sound and picture quality isn`t great but the boat was doing about 4k rpm and we were probly doing 60 mph.

reason we went really is cause my brother is thinking of buying a river boat, and my friend wants to upgrade to a bigger boat, so it may be a win win. we`ll see by the end of the week.

Looks like a blast!

But I would like to see him try to go that fast on the St Croix River where I boat. He'd be wet-side-up in about 2 seconds.

I KNOW!!! That river has some big ass white caps.

It's funny, I live a mile from the Mississippi and where I live she's less than 300ft wide. And much too shallow for most people other than bass boats. She doesn't become big water until it merges with St. Croix.

Very true. Although I've seen lake Pepin get nasty as hell when the wind whips up.

yeah i know, not so attractive really, but about a year ago him and i were coming through a small town and visited the local hunting shop. they were selling all their camo truck decal/body covers for 50% off, so he bought a crapload of it and put it on his boat, i was going to install it on my quad but never did, it is a pain to put on.
