AMSOIL V-Twin Synthetic Transmission Fluid is specifically designed for bikers who prefer a dedicated transmission fluid over a multi-use lubricant. I know of some riders that use AMSOIL's Severe Gear 75w-110 in the transmission to keep the noise down and it works well also.

I run amsoil 20w50 in the engine and primary, and currently have severe gear 75-140 in the trans. When the current supply runs out, I'll give the new one above a try, but it will have to impress, because the 75-140 is awesome.

I tried the 20w50 in all three holes trick on my first change. It didn't feel any different that what came in it from the dealer when new. Shifts were notchy, neutral mildly difficult to hit, and noisy.

Switched early to the SG 75-140 and that all went away...smooth shifts, neutral a breeze, and MUCH quieter. Love it. If I was someplace warmer i might go a little lighter, but that's not an issue here in new england.

I know a few HD riders that are AMSOIL dealers and are running the 75w-110 in the transmission and love it. I know AMSOIL came out with this new fluid and also one for the Primary as well. I guess time will tell if it makes a difference. I do now a few that run the 10w-40 in the primary with no issues.

Either way with a quality synthetic you are getting superior protection.

Right on, thanks. I will get my order placed!

I've got the 20W-50 in my Shadow and it's pretty happy... Except for cold starts, lol. Once I get my cam tensioners done, I'm going back to the 10W-40... I can't comment on transmission stuff... Though, I should probably swap my rear end oil out, lol.

Pretty much anything under 45 - 50 degrees outside, and she turns over noticeably slower...

I went with the 75w110 for the 1000 mile service on the trans.

Got the 20w50 for the engine, and the Primary Fluid.

Even snagged the Amsoil filters, Nick!
