Looks nice and I have thought about doing that with mine. Just worried I'd scrape it off on rocks.

Nice. 
You either need to strip and powdercoat the hitch or lose it. It really stands out as a stock item back there.

Get one of those custom hitches that hides behind the bumper. You then have to hinge your plate to access it.
Maybe you should make a custom one.
That's something I don't know if I've ever seen done for artistic reasons. I've seen plenty of homemade 24" drops but nothing cool looking.
