Hmm so kinda like a mild showtruck/daily driver.. Should be a nice lookin truck!

Nothing mild about it. There is a custom build 383 Stroker under the hood putting 400hp to the rear tires. After the paint is done (and I save up a little money), the new racing heads will be built and sent to Keith Wilson in FL for the custom Intake system. We are expecting up to 600hp on the ground after that.

But if you want to call it mild, go ahead.

This truck is a serious toy. It was supposed to be a sleeper, and has been for two years, but things change.

So today, I sanded all the paint off of the hood. Some of the rock chips were deep and there were a lot of them. 200,000 miles it hard on a hood. Sprayed etching primer, then urethane high build. Tomorrow I will block it out to make sure it is perfect and ready for color. Then I can start the prep on the rest of the body. I also fixed the rust on the rear window channel today so I will never have to worry about it again.

No problem, I charge $80 an hour with a $50,000 deposit. I charge time and materials, but use actual work time. Remember, if you want it done right, it will take time!!!

Good paint work is expensive but worth it. Looking forward to some updated pics! One high quality custom shop near here charges $7500.00 and up for same color refinishes plus R&I labor and parts. His shop stays booked 6 months ahead year round. Obviously custom jobs are much more.

At this point, I do not feel like I am getting much done, but I know I am. So here we go today. Started blocking the hood, finished the small dings on the passenger side and scuffed the roof (no body work there! Whoo Hoo!!). Also got the drivers side front fender ready, no putty there either. The drivers door had 5 coats of paint on it, got T-boned 4 years ago and the body shop kept screwing up the paint and rather than doing it correctly, they just painted over it again and again. Just one more of their short cuts to fix.

no work done this weekend, decided to take a break. We did however decide on the layout for the flames and the color design. That I will keep secret until the job is completed.
