Hello folks,

Been a while since I had anything much to say, but I got a "new" toy last week, and thought I would share:

miata.jpg

It's a 1994 Miata M Edition with 106k miles on it.

It was my folks' car since new. They bought it in May of 1994 with 23 miles on it. It's always been garage kept and never seen snow. My stepdad is getting up there in age, has health issues, and really struggled getting in and out of the car, so it didn't get driven much the last few years, and really didn't get driven much since may 2018. That was the last time gas was put in the car before yesterday. 230 miles in 3 years.

Given all that my stepdad passed the car down to me last week. I've already spent a few nights polishing up the 27 year old paint, tuneup, brakes will get done tonight. Not looking to do a ton to it other than drive the piss out of it, but here's the plan:

*Replace the Alpine 3 cd stereo in it now with a double din modern NAV/CarPlay capable unit.
*Replace the low profile aftermarket headlights in it currently with something newer and LED.
*Replace the 20 year old CAI that's falling apart with a new, less complicated one.

That's about it.

I kid, I kid. New wheels and tires too. The wheels are already on their way:

That’s a clean ride! I have never driven one, but hear they handle great. Love the bronze wheels

Congrats! You can definitely tell it lives in a garage. :D
I'd have a hell of a time getting in and out of something like that.

Thanks guys! It is definitely a great handling little car. I've raced it a few times over the years when my stepdad used to come out to run in my autox events with me. The real joy of this car is that it's a blat to drive at legal speeds. My other performance cars have been big heavy high horsepower affairs that were boring drive until you were going way faster than you really should be. As I get older, i much prefer keeping it legal :)

Very nice. I'm sure it is a blast to drive and it is getting warmer out so you can really enjoy it.

Sounds like a great start to the mods and keeping it simple. I like the wheels. :)
