these categories were invented because people couldnt stand calling Jeeps "station wagons". That's acualy what Cherokees were registered as initially, because they were smaller than their full-size J-10 and J-20 kin. Does that mean that a Cherokee can't get truck of the year because it started life as a station wagon? to be fair, it could outpull, outperform, and even hold more stuff than many trucks heavier than it.
