What all do u think I should do. The 5.3 is in my 05 crew cab. Should I rebuild the 5.3 or get a 6.0. This truck is my DD. What I was thinking was putting in the 4.8 pistons. With a bigger cam. not sure what one yet. Long tube headers off road y pipe. And then get it tuned by blackbear. Corvette servo.

Depends on the price of things in your area. While a 6.0 sounds good, 5.3s are much more common so they're probably quite a bit cheaper and there might not be much difference in cost between rebuilding what you got and buying a new 5.3. :dunno:

How many miles were on it? Don't hear of Gen IIIs dying very often.

What company do u all recommend for a long block 6.0. I'm not looking for big HP right now. That will come later I just need my truck back on the road.

If you want on the road fast and some power just drop in a 6.2. Summit has them in stock ready to go and the price is not to bad.
