No, that's why it's bawlz. In the gen 4 5.3 engines (AFM trucks) your cam options are extremely limited unless you install LS7 lifters which remove the AFM abilities. That allows you some better cam options.

Is there like a "6.0L Bible" somewhere that explains a lot of the performance mods and anything else?

I'll have to look for something, but it's pretty much a stone set formula that is proven to get you a quick truck/vehicle for the least amount of money. I would sign-up on performancetrucks.net and ls1tech and read a lot of their build threads.
