Swapin ford 4.2 for a detroit 3-53

I'm thinkin of trying to swap my ford 4.2 for a dietroit diesel 3-53 the problem is I'm not shure the dietroit will fit under the hood

All depends. There are other factors that are involved, fuel, wiring, suspension, etc. just not an engine swap.

3-53 would not be my choice. I am an old Detroit mechanic and I like the old 2 cycles, but damn they are heavy for what they put out. Low torque

well mainly for, torque, simplicity, because its a farm truck and im barely pulling full gravity wagons and other farm equipment and i can afford to buy a bigger truck

a modified f150 with heaver duty suspension with a 5 speed, and im going to do some transmission work to it also because its grinding bad, it orignaly had a 5.4 in it but the privous owner put a 4.2 in it and put a 5 speed in along with it
