I don't know the story before the start of the race... But 2 possibilities come to mind that brings me to some life lessons...

I think this was on tech a while ago. Apparently it is some hick racetrack that people bring their shatty cars to pretty much run "no holds barred" racing. Everyone was pissed that a dude brought his brand new SRT-8. So they taught him a lesson.

I watched it again and noticed that the announcer alluded to the fact that this wasn't the first race between the two.
