Which spark plug should be used in the 3.8L? copper, single plat, double plat, or irrdium?

It should tell you in the owners manual. I would probably go with the platinum, but if they're a bitch to get to I'd go with the iridium.
I'd also use either AC Delco or NGK plugs.

I wouldn't use Autolite spark plugs on anything, but that's me.

I ve always used them in small engines with no issues also.

I put Champion in my mower. That's what it calls for.

I'd use Motorcraft if I had a Ford. Autolite are made by Fram, and I won't use anything from Fram.
