What makes me mad is that the putty spots protrude from the paint. I ran my hands across it a million times and couldnt feel it.
Soooo, I painted my bed today.

Now the paint dried alot of the spots went flat and lost all gloss and are kind of rough.

You need to try wetsanding and buffing it!

Neighbor of mine just spent $500 at a Macco and turned out the same. Dirt, bugs...gave him a business card to a detailer to make it look good.

No dirt, just the bugs. Something caused the paint on the tailgate to sepearte and didnt cover well. I didnt use grease and wax remover I used the spray gun cleaner to wipe it off after I blew the sanding dust off. One spot on the bed the paint would just drip away from an area like their was an oil their.
