Sierra Headlight upgrade (No HIDs)

First of all, I don't really have any interest in HIDs for my truck. That being said, I'm looking for something with a little better output than stock. I've always had good luck with Silverstars so I picked up a set last weekend. They are sitting in the garage waiting to be installed.

Before I install the Silverstars, does anyone have any other suggestions?

I read Jim's thread on fog light upgrades and like the Putco bulbs that Jeff suggested. My concern is that I want the fogs and headlights to match (similar color). Jeff, did you change out your headlights to a different bulb to match the fogs? What are you using for your headlights?

Let me know what you guys think.

yeah get some hella optiluxs, they are very bright and last, have only had one fail in 10 years! an i have had them in many vehicles! the low beams are 80w and 100w high!!!

PIAA Xtreme White bulbs are what I used on my Sierra before going HID.

They are a bit pricier but I love the look of a PIAA bulb.

Does it really matter if the fogs match the headlights? It's not a fashion show for me. I'm just interested in better lighting. I went with the yellow bulbs for my fogs. I'll post a review once they are in.

It's not a fashion show for me either. I do prefer that the fogs match the headlights though. We had a Lexus a few years back with yellow fogs and I couldn't stand it. But that's just me.

I upgraded my fogs to 9005 bulbs and they match my headlights. They are almost as bright too. I drive everywhere with my fogs on so at night with my normal headlights the road is very well illuminated.

Yeah I saw you mention that in another thread and thought about doing that as well.

Its a fairly easy upgrade. Took me and a buddy about 30 min to do all the wiring and the trimming of the bulbs. Looks great to me!
